What do you all think about President Bush sending more troops out to Iraq?

Thank you for taking the time to post how you feel about the presidential address. I just want to say that the possibility of sacrificing your life for your country is one of the chances you take when joining the military. If you don't want to take that chance, then you shouldn't join.

You are correct. I could not agree w/you more about the risk you must take for joining the Armed Forces.
However, the reality is that there are enough individuals who join the Armed Force because they're are at the end of rope, have no other choice or have no other places to go in life.
Hopely with the "quality control", this will change.

I agree with you too. But you have to remember that joining is still only voluntary. As for those who join because they are at the end of their rope are only using it as an excuse to take responsibility for their decisions. I told myself that that was my reason for joining, but in reality I did have other alternatives. I wanted to blame others for my mistakes and failures instead of growing up and doing what I had to do.

Rita, You pose an interesting question; but I gave up wondering about his thought system quite a long time ago. Every move he makes confuses and worries me even more. ~Donna
