Feel good drug

Why can'y science develop a feel good drug with no side effects? The brain produces chemicals like dopamine and endomorphines that make us feel good for a while so why can we not synthesize them? Can you imagine what a better place the world would be if we could pop a pill and feel good for the day. One immediate benefit would be that the illegal drug trade would be destroyed overnight. I believe science should work on developing such a drug since all drug use is motivated by a need to alter perceptions of reality....so why not have a safe perception altering drug? What does everyone think about this?
