When I wanted to by a printer I have noticed that the cost of the (hp) printer is comparatively very cheap but the cartridges are very costly.
The consumables expenditure goes very high.
In our country taxes are applied on capital investments and consumables are summed up as expences. We don't get any depriciation on consumables and it can not be summed up as capital asset.
Authorised ink refilling also should be considerad by hp people I think.

That is a very simple thing to understand.
While marketing globally, this type of monopoly tactices are played.
See, make your machine specific, with a single way out of consumables and start squeezing the costomers life long.
If you buy these type of machines from the market, definetly you will buy the cartridges where else you will go.
This is just like slow poison.
After a span of time hp would even give you the printer free of cost.
As was combo offer went in US with the other hardwares.
You produce a unique item like hp
you also will adapt the same policy.
