Do you agree with spanking your kids?

My husband and I are torn on this issue. We were both spanked as kids, and I think it did more harm than good, but he disagrees. It just made me angry with my parents, not regretful of what I had done, and I didnt learn anything from it except anger, and taking that out physically. My husband thinks it is effective and wants to use spanking as a form of discipline with our son. I am a fan of nanny 911 and supper nanny and agree with their methods of discipline. I dont want my husband to resort to spanking because I think it is wrong, what do you think?
