What do you recommend?

I love to read. I will occassionally read "chick lit" but generally prefere something with a little more depth. My last favourite reads were Memoirs of a Geisha and The Time Travellers Wife. I have also just started reading Rock Me Gently, its the memoirs of a woman who spent some time in care in a convent and the atrocities that she was put through. Any suggestions or recommendations?
