Is there anybody on here who homeschools their children? How is that working out for you? I would also like to hear from people who were homeschooled themselves, and how they think it has affected their life.

i personally don't homeschool my children but my brother who lives in wilderness south africa has 3 young children ofwhich are schoolgoing age. the eldest 2 are homeschooled by their mom while we works during the day. his eldest daughter is almost thesame age as my son so i am able to make some general comparisons. in general she seems very well balanced and has an enormous interest andfascination about nature and the living environment. in addition her parents use permaculture on their plot and she also uses the plot towards assignments that her daughter has to complete. my brothers neighbour ( quite far away as the plots are large) is one of 8 children and she was also homeschooled becasue her parents her travelling all over the worls. i met her at christmas this year with her 3 daughters who are also being home schooled. the eldest daughter is a very talented artist and again, all of themn seemed to be quite, friendly and modets type people

I homeschool my son who is in the sixth grade. We have been homeschooling since third grade and it is going great. We have bad days where not much work gets done, but that's alright we make up for it. I am currently using Switched on Schoolhouse for his curriculum. I was not homeschooled but I did go to a very small private school that was practically like homeschooling. The school used The School of Tomorrow curiculum which is another great option. I graduated a year early and have also been told that I am intelligent. However my intelligence is not god given it is book learned, believe me I owe it all to good schooling! LOL Crystal

I do not buy the idea of homeschooling. I beleive we ahve a lot of thing to learn in order to survive in this world my interacting face to face to other learners in school. nSchool is a smaller world. Homeschool will not expose someone to lots of this experinces.
