Can you suggest something?We have known each other for 6 years..And I cant think of anything I havent already bought for him.

hmmm...6 years..this means that you two are very happy with each other,which is actually making you bonded to each other that too after so many years!!
and about your question ..i think its better if you tactfully ask him about what he likes the most,may be in between your regular conversations.that should let you know what he likes the most and you can get him that...
but i have a question for you also..you said that its been 6 years since your relation..so is it necessary to follow these kind of formalities ??i mean now you should be so close to eachother and hence ,is it necessary to get eachothers gift and such things???
It would be suficient if you sing him a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" song for him on his birthday.

just because I have been with him for so long doesnt mean that I have got bored with the idea of giving him surprises.The more I get to know him, the more I love him, and so the more I want to surprise him with little gifts..Now, isnt that a reasonable answer to your question?
