why do pages load so slowly

I complained about this before and everyone told me it was my computer, but I'm not having issues with any other site, just this one. IT'S SLOW! ever since it has slowed down, I respond a lot less, I just can't be bothered to wait so long to respond. Hopefully this gets fixed soon, I would like to respond to more things.

Try fitting 100 people through a small door. Prepare for the pain of being shoved off to the side and being forced to wait! :P

It is mostlikely due to high traffic on the site. It seems to happen every once and a while(I experience the sluggishness here every other day.
