I'd just like to know how others feel about the series. More specifically, I'd like to know what others think of the series' take on Vampire & Werewolves at it seems to differ quite a bit from 'traditional' vampires and werewolves.

I absolutely love the books! The new television show could be really great as well, but there will just be no replacing of the books for me! I hope Jim Butcher nevers stops writing them :)
I don't mind that he is creative about his way of handling vampires or werewolves. I can tell as I read the series that he does his homework thoroughly, and he uses what works for his plot and then gets creative with the rest. I love that I can't always predict what will happen next, and that he is always surprising me!
And I love Bob :) He's an awesome character.

I love these books as well. I think the different take, especially on vampires, makes the series more interesting. I like the little details in the series, like how technology fouls up around wizards. Harry's deadpan sense of humor is fun, I hope that comes through in the tv series. I'm waiting impatiently for the next book, which should be out in the next few weeks.

Actually Dresden Files is more focus on the supernatural and paranormal as a whole as the character has various enemies from each of the genre and it's technically called Urban Fantasy.
