i want to know who was the best captain and why? i thought it was kirk- a real trailblazer. the definitve man. i guess this is a contentious issue for all the trekkies out there. tell me what do you think?

hehe. I'm not a trekkie so to speak, but I do like my star treks. Kirk was good in that he had that 'rogue-ish' charm where he could get away with anything, but I like Picard slightly more. I think though, that it's partly to do with the fact that Patrick Stewart is a sort of hero. I think he's a fantastic actor - such a true thespian! Can't really stand any of the other captains though.

I think Picard. I've been watching since it started and I found Kirk too Kirk-ish for my tastes. Janeway is good but a bit PC. Archer I like, if admittedly mainly because he's a trailblazer.
Picard is the thinker, and the difficult one to penetrate as a captain. His decisions aren't all that predictable, and anyone less in your face would be hard to imagine.
