I do not have children, have a grandson of 10 years my sister lets him only play the week-end for about 2 hours on, Saturday and Sunday.
Learn soon, he have a little sister 6 years is already able to type in ... ... certainly a computer limits the fantasy.

My son is 32 months old and he is playing with the computer also. As my doctor told me at the ages of 2-10 the kids are supposed to watch tv and play with the pc for 3 or 4 hours per day. Not more. And there must be midterms within.

That sounds about right for the age. They can understand better what they are doing and they know what they like. I wouldn't let him spend to much time in front of it. Make him go out and play with his friends too. Maybe just a few hours or less a day.

Dear Aidonia,
I think you did the best thing. It is important to pay attention to children and their natural interests. There is no right age to start learning how pc functions...On the contrary, it is a matter of fact that young people learn computer easily than older ones..and it is well known that the best people working with pc nowadays are the youngest you might imagine...maybe your son might turn into a great pc man !!! Anyway I am sure he is happy with his pc lessons and this is important because he is learning something that will be useful for me during the rest of his life and he is enjoying himself too. As for the amount of time he spend with pc, you must pay attention to these because pc may be harmful for his eyes...that is 2 or 3 hours per day and paying attention to make eyes rest for a few minutes every 15-30 minuts of work.
it is difficult but yu can teach him that making his eyes rest is a sort of gymnastic and he has to do this for continuing using pc

I'd let him on there for a few hours a day but don't let him sit on it all day. It really isn't good for you even though I do it. My baby is only 2 months but she already likes pushing the mouse around my desk and watching the pointer move on the screen. I can bet she is gonna be a little computer junkie :D

When my son was 10 I let him stay on the pc for 2 hours per week night and more on week-ends. What you did was great for him, all kids need to learn the pc as much as possible. It is a good thing that he likes it so much. It shows he is intelligent. No one is too young or old to learn the computer. Good for you and good for your son.

I believe that he should be allowed about 1-2 hrs a day. Because there are other healthier, things that he can do. He can play games, play with kids his age. Do some adventuring in your area, and really, spend most of his time outside, instead of hurting his eyes, ears, and straining is poor brain, just on the computer. Kids need to be active and physical...staying on the computer indoors, can make him less of a people-person, and less active (which here in America, leads to overweight kids)...try to encourage him to do physical things and not to get too attached to playing games on the PC.
