what is the real cause of deforestation?

In our country the main cause is illegal logging. These illegal loggers just cut off the trees without replacing new ones and I guess in not proper way. I don't know what's the specific process or rules on how to log responsibly but I believe there is existing ones. If thats only fully implemented then it will help to decrease the deforestation which has terrible effect not only to nature but to human also.
