petition to save an Iranian girl sentanced to hang

An 18 year-old girl was sentanced to hang in Iran for the crime of stabbing three men who were attempting to rape her and her 16 year-old cousin.
Her first trial was overturned and she is going through a second series of trials. An international petition has been started to appeal to officials in the United Nations and in Iran to grant her clemency on the grounds of self-defense.

That seems like is was very much self defense and her cousin that's sick. But how many signatures do you need total on the petition?

Sorry I must have misread the post the three men tried to rape her and her 15 year old niece.

Thanks for the signature! I'm hoping that people take the time to sign even if they don't respond to this discussion. I'm really hoping that the Iranian government will be swayed by world opinion.

Thank you so much for posting this! What a great idea! Hopefully this petition and website will have some effect and help save this poor girl.
I first heard about this story earlier this week in the local paper. A former Miss Canada winner also has the name Nazanin, and when she first heard of this girl's story, she knew she had to do something and has been working to raise awareness ever since.
