Pregnancy is a strong motivator for quitting. I quit during all three of mine but slipped back into in between. In answer to your question I think you could have, but it is really something that you must want to do. If you don't really deep down want to give it up you never will. Just my 2 cents ... :)

Well done. I think the most important thing is that you stopped smoking when you found out that you were pregnant. If you had the willpower to stop for the sake of your child´s health and to never start smoking again, I thing you could have also quit smoking without pregnancy.

Yes that was the real reason that you quit smoking for you child, any way you love you child too much. and it has been proved that you can do anything for that person. It it had not been the case you should not have quit smoking, or it would be no an easy task for you.

I think getting pregnant is a good way to quit smoking. I wouldn't recommend it though because if you don't really want a baby it's a bad idea to have one. Also, some people still aren't able to quit and that's a bad thing. For you it worked out great because you sound like you wanted the baby and you were able to quit smoking so you'll have a healthy baby and just as importantly it'll have a healthy mother that can hopefully be there for a long time for the baby.
