Shootings at Schools, why is this happening lately?

Why all the sudden are there so many shootings at schools? These are not just kids shooting people, these are adults going into schools and shooting kids and taking them hostage! Why is this happening right now? Are we going to have to lock down schools in the future? Is that safe for the kids inside?
I am scared to death about my kids going to school and that the american public has overlooked the safty these unsecure enviornments. your thoughts?

All Schools should have closed campuses and schools should monitor who goes in and out! Where my neices go to school grades K-6 they have closed campus...anyone who enters has to check in at the office....I think kids are safer at school than at any other place...

Sickening isn't it? The pyschos and lunatics are running the world. It is terrifying for every day that I send my child to school and I'm not sure lockdown would be much better unless they were going to thoroughly search each kid that walks in the door.
