How many of you dye your hair?

I was just wondering, How many of you dye your hair? What color do you dye it? What colors have you dyed it? And also, why do you dye it? Also, what is your natural hair color? (what color were you born with?)
I dye my hair now because I can't stand the "salt & pepper" look on myself. ;)I used to dye it just because I wanted a change. I have dyed my hair: blond, strawberry blond (accident, my first time trying for blond)(OOPS! LOL), black, brown, red (did that at a place I worked, felt like a "red headed step-child" there so I dyed my hair to match. LOL. my coworker thought it was a hoot, they felt that was too, but didn't have the nerve to do such a thing. I've also done all the different shades of brown. I was born with black hair.

Unfortunately I have very little hair left to dye, but when I was younger I used to bleach my hair till it was a very bright blonde (my natural hair color is brown). No reason other than to just change up my look a bit.

My cousin has been bleaching her hair blond since she was 9. She's still got beautiful long blond hair. (down her back).

Hi! I started coloring my hair because I started getting premature gray. *sigh* So, I started coloring it out of vanity. I use the Shades EQ, and it coats my hair, gives it body, and conditions it very well, so now I continue to color it because the Shades EQ is very good for my hair. Along with covering the gray, I usually go for a light auburn with blonde highlights - my stylist is fabulous!

It sounds really pretty. I can't afford a stylist, so my daughters help me with over the counter stuff.

Yes i dye my hair but not too often. My original hair color is black, and just for a change i tried to dye them in a lighter shade. i think the first ever colour that i apply was burgandy then after a while i go back to black. Then after that i apply the natural shade of brown until last 3 months ago i went home back to my country and i went to the salon to have my hair treated and then they dye it as well but really dont know the color they applied(it was three colors combined altogether, and it looks good). So at the meantime im still enjoying the shade that i've got.

LOL, I agree. I love to change it because I get bored with the same haircolor too. Changing your haircolor is the easiest way to make a dramatic change in your apperance. I didn't used to do it as often as I do now, gotta hide those grays. LOL

I have very dark hair and have gone orange attempting the blonde thing as well, lol, then liked the orange and kept that a while, then burgundy, that was far out. I have my natural colour right now, and have a few silver strands, but I don't think I'd dye it all again, maybe get some coloured extensions, like a deep blue or really hot red.

I have found that my hair likes me to dye it. It always looks shinier & healthier after I have dyed it. I've tried bleaching it a few times. my hair hates to be bleached. it always acts like dry straw after I bleach it. Hope this helps to answer your question.

I dye my hair about every four weeks. I have been doing this since I was about 12 years old. I normally dye it darker shades in the winter and lighter shades in the summer. I have had my hair burgundy, purple, midnight blue, black, blonde, black cherry, berry red, red, strawberry blond, pink, brown, auburn,. If there is a new color that comes out I normally try it. I dye my hair because I hate things always the same its boring. I dont like my hair the same color very long. I dont like my furniture in one place very long. If I didnt have kids I wouldnt even stay in one place very long.

LOL, you sound like me when I was younger ( & healthier). I changed my hair color more then. (now, I change it when the whites scream at me) ;)
I also used to move my furniture around a lot. LOL, having kids didn't stop me from going places. I moved to Wisconson, Texas, & other states (after I had kids). LOL

If you are planning to do it yourself, they always say to only go 1 to 3 shades lighter than your true hair color. If you are planning to go & have it done, you can ask the stylist what colors would look good on you. Then pick the one you like. Hope this helps to answer your question.

I have never dyed my hair. I watched one of my sisters do it all her life and it absolutely ruined her hair, and continued to promote her restlessnes of discontentment with herself and her appearance. I was born a towhead (pure blonde headed child) - but as I get older 4,5, and six my hair changed to a deep burnette coloring. I'm older now and have streaks of beautiful white hair, that seem to complement my coloring and not really reveal my age. My mom never dyed her hair and only had a few gray hairs when she passed at 78 years of age, my dad had the most beatuiful jet black hair and he too had little to no graying when he passed at the young age of 60. -- I however think its a personal thing, I have friends like you who just seem to have fun with it -- just please be careful not to over do and ruin your hair -- do those hair dyes absorb into the bloodstream??? I have often wondered -- Happy Hair days :)

LOL, when I was younger, I dyed my hair more than I do now. I don't dye it now, till my whites bother me. I can't stand the salt & pepper look on myself. I keep saying, if it would ALL come in white, I'd stop dying it. (I think all white would be pretty). Thanks for your concern. :)

I have dyed my hair before but I'm a bit of a coward and scared it'll go wrong so have ended up choosing colours that are really close to my natural colour (brown, used to have natural red highlights but got darker as I've got older), so don't anymore as there's not really a lot of point, probably will when it starts going grey though!!!

It's the easiest way to change your look. ;) now I don't dye it till my part gets to showing too many white hairs.:) LOL. my hubby is fixing to have a red headed wife. ;) LOl I bought a bright red color yesterday & my daughter said she would help me with it today. I can't wait. Hope it turns out good.;)

I dye my hair all the time.I have been all shades of red, blonde, brown, black and at one stage purple.I just had blonde foils put in my hair yesterday,my natural colour is dark brown.Lately I dye my hair to cover the greys and I figured with the blonde foils people would think the grey was blonde lmao.

Yes I dye my hair. It has been all colours from black, to all shades of reds and browns. Naturally my hair is medium brown but I am always exited to get a new look. Now I am going on the copper range. I will dye it all copper with blonde highlights. It is important to let the professionals do it so hair remains healthy. Though I am quite fair I never go all blonde. I think it's the only colour that goes out of my list.

i have dyed my hair 5 times. I'm asian with black hair and used blonde dye to make my hair golden brown once. it was really pretty. Now i have just stopped because I don't want to ruin my hair so much. So i dyed it back black and short haired.
