Meet my Puppy!

Hi all! Just wanted you to meet my puppy. He's a teacup maltese, his name is Junior, and he is almost full grown. He'll be around 5 lbs when he's completely grown.
What do you think of him?
Do you have any dogs? Any pets?

Your puppy is sooo cute!
However (and I know you'll probably give me a negative for this, but please don't!) the term "teacup" is used to describe dogs that are too small for their breed. They are breed this way, and usually have health problems down the line. Did you get your adorable pup from a breeder?
I have a miniature pinscher. He's 8 lbs. I love small dogs. I just want to make sure that you did not pay waaayyy too much for a dog that was labled "tea cup" by a breeder or store before knowing what the term teacup meant. I have a lot of friends with tea cup pups, and it doesn't mean that they're any less of a dog than other dogs! :) Good luck with your new best friend. I know my small dog goes every where with me, either on his leash or when I go into stores, in his bag. :)

teacup is really just a made up name they give to small dogs to sell them for more .I also don't mean this bad but 5 pounds for a maltese is not really that small it is actualy normal size .The standard calls for them to be under 7 pounds with 4 to 6 prefered so your puppy fits right in the middle there not really extra small .I hope you did not pay extra for it being a tea cup ?
In Chihuahuas the national club the Chihuahua club of america is very against the label tea cup .It is not really a true size just something used to add a higher price tag .

he's really cute. that's so amazing that they dont get any bigger than that. i wonder how they stay so small.. i dont have any dogs because of my apartment but i do have 2 kittens.

Wow he is so cute ^^ , Anyways im planning on getting a dog from a vet. I've heard it is best to get them from a vet then from a pet shop. Because if you get them from the pet shop they are unexperienced and do not do anything right, getting them from the vet, they might be trained, most of them were abandoned and i feel for them...
