No no no no, it's definately not ok. He should be paying attention to the road, not his mobile. It's worse than making a call while driving which is definately illegal. At least when making a call your not looking at the phone except to dial. Maybe you could offer to write the text for him while he dictates. That's what i do for one of my friends. She is always texting but is not silly enough to do it while driving.

Of course not, this is very dangerous and can lead to an accident. I get annoyed when I see someone texting while driving, they don't care if someone is in a hurry, they just drive slowly while texting.

ITS NOT OK!!! tell him that.. I work for the Police and I have seen many accidents because Careless Drivers are NOT paying attention to the roads because of their damn cellphones! Yesterday a 9yr old girl was crossing the road.. on a Pedestrian Crossing ofcourse and this woman went straight through her because she was texting her Best friend about her lamea$$ boyfriend.. Ofcourse the girl didnt survive.. and all this stupid idiotic woman was worried about was "Whats my Boyfriend going to say about his CAR!"

As far as the law goes, it is not okay to use a phone while driving, unles you are talking on a earpiece.(well that is in my state) Other than the law, i believe it is very dangerous to text while driving. I will not convince you that it is okay, because i believe it is very dangerous and my endanger the life of the person texting and other drivers.
