Is it a must to put a password for a file? Could you tell me why?

Normally for those confidential files we need to enter a password to keep the privacy and for the normal type need not to do so cause from time to time there will lots of files been created.

if external people have access to your computer it is very important. when the internet is there it is also very important. just put a pass or encryput it. You will never know when and who will steal the information and use it for illigal purposes or miuse it
