Ihave worn vertebrae in my neck - so not quite the same thing, but I would think these exercises (given top me by my physiotherapist) might be OK for you too. It's really about keeping the neck active and stretching.
Under the shower, allow the neck area to become warm - half a minute perhaps.
1. Tilt your head to the right down towards your shoulder. Hold for a count of 3. Repeat three times. Do the same on the left hand side.
2. Angle your head slightly - turn your head to the left and tilt your head down to the right towards your chest. Hold for a count of 3. Repeat three times. Do the same turning your head to the right and tilting down to the left.
3. Shrug your shoulders right up to your ears. Hold for a count of three. Repeat five times.
You can also do this if you've been at the computer for too long. it's a good way to loosen up the neck area.
Hope this helps a bit.

If you went to your doctor to get that diagnosis then you need to get back to him and gets some vidoin or precocet. Ther eis no way you should be doing anything like massage for that. Heat and such will only be temporary relief but usually don't do anything but aggravate the site. Call your doctor, get bold, get demanding, get some good meds!

Thanks. I do have pain medicine, and it helps, but I am always looking for alternative ways to alleviate pain, short of surgery.
