I noticed that they started doing these ratings things where that star is next to your user name..
How do you raise your rating?
and why does it go down? I was at 9 yesterday and now 8 today..
if anyone is aware of how this works and can share the info with me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks alot :)

Your rating will go up and down according to the quality of the discussions and responses you give. I noticed that you have quite a few discussions created with plagiarized text from copyrighted sites that you have failed to credit the original author and or site where you got it from. This is a violation of mylot rules and copyright infringement laws. Maybe this is why your rating went down, because you shouldn't be rewarded for words you do not actually write yourself. That's the only reason I can think of for why your rating went down instead of up.

Your rating depends on how other mylot members rate you. If you have a 24 hour period where you get a few more negatives than positives on your replies or on your discussions yourisk going done in points. Just make sure you are starting quality and meaningful discussions. Also make sure your replies are meaningful to the discussion at hand.

All of this was very clearly explained in the alert on the new rating system. And the post on the new rating system. It's a really good idea to read those.
Your star rating all depends on how other users rate you. If you were given a large number of negative ratings, your rating number will go down.

Well the policy regarding the ratings from mylot is not quite clear and vague to some extent. They say that the ratings are based on the ratings that you get on your posts from other users as well as your over all activity on mylot. I think the best way to increase your ratings would be to have substantially good activity on mylot which fetches you good ratings for your posts.
