I was originally born down south and it was common for you to walk past a total stranger and you would speak but when I moved to the city people walk right pass one another look each other dead in the face and dont as much utter a word . its sad to say but you become use to this. I was just wondering why is this?

Perhaps they dont think about it at the time? Perhaps they have other things on their mind? Work, Money, Family etc.. When someone walks past you say "Good Morning" Most people do respond.. Others either dont want too or they cant hear you.. there can be many possibilities one has to look at.

I lived in the city since birth. I guess people are just observing the simple saying "Never talk to a Stranger". Maybe they are just trying to be careful or should i say they are just to busy in their own lives. I guess if you wanted to make some friends, there are proper places and moments for this and do not just depend on the people passing by the streets.
