Is Global warming a fact or fiction

Any News paper worth its salt,publishes news items,flashes,warnings,expert opinions,scientific surveys and a myriad forms of journalistic avatars about the impending dangers of Global warming,Greenhouse Gases and emissions. In the same breath an avalanche of news items by eminent scientists contradicting vehemently the global warming and simply dismissing Global warming as a figment of the wild imagination of people.
What is the plight of poor I and poor You?Who to believe? Obviously the fourth estate and scientific community are vying with each other to hog the limelight making the readers fools

I can understand why there are two views. It happens with anything that will impact industry monetarily, they then start funding scientists to find flaws with the commonly held view.
The US being the biggest single producer of the conventional greenhouse gases (excluding water vapour, which is supposed to be a greenhouse gas) does not agree with the fact that they need to reduce carbon emissions, thus all the US government organisations are out to show facts that show a different side to the global warming issue.

US didn't pay any heed to Kyoto resolution and to show the world Global warming is the figment of wild imagination.it's hiring some scientists(I heard including UN) to mutilate the facts. I too read about this..But what's the reality? Untimely rains and unexpected environment turbulences are the realities standing before us.What's your personal opinion?

I have had way too many discussions about this and tried to get the opposite opinion with being the bad cop on this one.
The truth is that global warming is happening, look at the weather in London this winter - it is the middle of January and I don't think it has snowed even once yet.
What I think is more important than the fact whether global warming is occuring or not is doing things to reduce our emissions. Why do people have to drive 4x4s. Why can't they walk when it may take longer in the car because of traffic than actually walking; Take two seconds and switch off the TV, rather than putting it on standby and switching off lights when you are not in the room.
Increase awareness, become energy efficient...

Global warming is a fact. Those who say that it is a fiction are only closing their eyes to the reality. I say that even if it is a fiction, there is nothing wrong in taking certain actions which reduces Greenhouse Gases and other emissions. It is not going to harm anybody.

I don't know if Global Warming is real but something is going on in our environment. It just seems like the winters are always getting a little warmer. Where I grew up it snowed a lot when I was a kid and now they barely get an inch at a time there. The other day it was almost 70 degrees in January here in New York. There are certainly changes taking place around us.

I believed that there is really Global warming as it is really evident in our place. We even experienced El Nino& El Nina phenomenon and its really sad because changing of climate is very frustrating not only from me but also for farmers here in our place. I had studied a great deal about global warming and asked for some people like those pertaining to weather and chemist and I could say that Global Warming is really a fact and its really happening in our place. That's why am very careful with all the things that causes it. Too much use of aircon can contribute a big deal to Global Warming as well as tree deforestration.

Everyday there is news about Global Warming. It's obvious to me, even though I am not a Scientist. Man will deny this as long as there is money to be made. What are the big oil companies doing about alternative fuel with their billions of dollars in profit. Can you imagine what would happen to those giant corporations went out of business because a "green sollution" was found by some other industry? Big money doesn't seem to care about this problem. The way things work is based on who has the most money to lose.
