Do television serials have an affect on our lives?

We spent atleast 2-3 hrs of our day watching daily soaps, serials, movies. We try to corelate ourselves with some character of the serial. Do these serial affect our lives. Can they modify the way in which we think? There have been incidences where watching action movies, children have tried to imitate those actions, and caused harm to themselves. Do adults also get influenced with what they see on television?

yes it affects our lives.we tend to change our decision by comparing it with tv serials.it has both good & bad effects
a person may b encouraged to do bad things or he may b encouraged to do good things in life.
for ex. the whole country including youths got patriotic by watching the movie RANG DE BASANTI in INDIA.
