In my lifetime I have known maybe dozen people with cancer. It used to be an automatic decree of death. Now people are treated and CURED. They don't just say they are in remission anymore. How many survivors do you know? I know 3 men who survived prostate cancer. One of them is married to a woman who survived breast cancer. I know at least 3 other women who have survived breast cancer and one who survived uterine cancer. How many survivors do you know? God bless them all!

my sister has survived cervical cancer, and now has colon cancer, but is in remission, thankfully, and still has some bad times, but all in all she is doing very well.

Not only do I know many survivors I AM a survivor. And I've beaten it 3x. I had cervical cancer in 1988 and then I had thyroid cancer in 2003 and again in 2005 but it had spread to my lymphnodes also. With good doctors, lots of prayer and many episodes of radiation and such I can say I've been cancer free for about 2 years now.

ofcourse it can be cured if caught in its earlier stages a friend of mine's father has been cured for quite a while and my aunt is getting treated these days and she is almost cured too thankfully, so all those ppl out there facing this disease just look at Kylie Minogue and Lance Armstrong and just trust in God

My grandfather is a 2 time survivor of that evil cancer. My great aunt is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, but it doing well with it. Unfortunately, my other grandfather was taken from us due to brain tumors, and other tumors throughout his body. A friend of my family was diagnosed with uterine cancer, but she is now rid of it and living a very full life.

Absolutely! i have heared about people surviving this deadly disease. However, people who reach the terminal stages have very little chance of survivial;only those who have it diagnosed at an early, and thus, curable stage, manage to win the fight against it.
Morever, it also depends on the availability of equipment and knowledge for the cure. Unfortunately in many developing countries like pakistan, people often lose their lives to this terminal illness. More research is needed in this field to increase the odds of winning this battle against cancer worldwide.

My mum had Cervical Cancer and was cured of that, but unfortunately developed secondary lung cancer and has an expectancy of 6mths...
Myself i was diagnosed at the age of 19, at the time mum was unaware of her inner battle... when the doctors asked me if there was any family history of cervical cancer i said no...anyway i was treated over the next couple of years, i was advised to have a hysterectomy as they beleived even though they removed the cancer that at some stage it would return...i thought i was too young for this to be happening to me... i decided to go against the hysterectomy and allowed them to remove most of my cervix.I have now 4 years later been in the clear.. i would like to look at myself as a survivor...At the start of Last year mum was told the dreaded news at the age of 62, she went through her chemo and radiation and surgery...all though her cervical cancer was in the clear it crept through the rest of her body because it was too late. I would like to encourage all the women out their to get their regular paps... i often think if mum did all those years ago , maybe just maybe all would be good for her now.
God Bless All The Women That Have Had To Endure All Of The Treaments Involved To Beat This Dreaded Disease Survivor or Not.
