what is nanotechonology?

the term nano is a common prefix associated with units of measure, most commonly distance. People are used to millimeter which is 1/1,000 of a meter. a micro meter is 1/1,000,000 of a meter and a nanometer is 1/1,000,000,000 of a meter. Nanotechnology is anything that contains a fundamental device that is smaller than a micrometer or "micron" and thus mus be described in nanometers. Most commonly it is used to describe biotech which I know nothing about, and semiconductor processors which currently have minimum device sizes of 65nm.

I did realise it later that nanotech is a real intersting field when my friend used to boast about it a lot
