Would You Go Electric?

With the ridiculous price of gas, would you take the plunge and buy a hybrid or electric car? I'm tempted.

i know that gas prices are soaring but i would stick to gas-powered vehicles. the reason is that they can go faster than their electric counterparts. i believe electric cars can only go up to 40 km/h and that wouldnt be fast enough for highway travel.
although i wouldnt consider electric cars, i may consider hybrid cars. hybrids can run on gas when above 40km/h for more speed and run on electricity on the lower speeds such as below 40km/h.
