I am learning Spanish. I don't know if learning is the right word since I've been learning it for the last 6 plus years and have spent about a month in Mexico and time in Spain. I've also had a job for 2+ years where the people I work with speak little or no English. My Spanish isn't perfect (especially spoken, I have a pretty bad accent) but I can convey almost any thought with pretty much everyone I've met in Mexico and Spain both verbally and on paper. Since I'm nowhere near perfect, I'm still learning. Being fluent and perfect in a language are very different. I'd say I've been fluent (or pretty close) for about three years now but I wouldn't even be able to write a book for children or give a speech in Spanish without making tons of errors.
