why do people celebrate birthday happily if u think properly u should feel sad that numbers of years have got less for ur old age...

Only those people who live in present, celebrate their B'Day, but those who always think about future, feel sad that number of years have got less for their old age.

because its an excuse for a party and to have fun! I don't really need anymore reason! Makes sense historically though, I'm guessing, wouldn't know for sure though, that started celebrating them when mortality rate improved so less child deaths and children began to become more valued in themselves rather than just as a comodity for the parents, i.e. working and earning money, looking after parents when they get older etc.
Hmm, thats a bit too sensible and serious for me, good excuse for a party and to give presents!!!
