This does sound like an odd pairing of ingredients, but it is very tasty.
Orange Fluff I
Ready In: 1 Hour 5 Minutes
"Orange flavored gelatin is stirred into whipped topping and then folded into a bowl of cottage cheese, crushed pineapple and mandarin oranges. Even better when chilled for an hour."
INGREDIENTS:
2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin
oranges, drained (optional)
1 (15 ounce) can crushed
pineapple
1 pound cottage cheese
2 (3 ounce) packages orange
flavored gelatin mix
1 (16 ounce) package frozen
whipped topping, thawed
DIRECTIONS:
1. Combine the well drained oranges and pineapple in a large bowl and mix together with the cottage cheese. Add the dry orange flavored gelatin powder and stir until well blended. Fold in the thawed frozen whipped topping and refrigerate for at least one hour.
I've made this with orange jello, lime jello and cherry jello adding marachino cherries. I'm sure this would taste wonderful with peach jello with diced peaches as well. Enjoy

Jello is used in many ways in my home but to be different we make cherry salad. Here's the recipe:
1 large box of cherry Jello
1 medium can crushed pineapple (dreained)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 extra large package Cool Whip
Mix all of the ingredients together and enjoy! Refrigerate any unused salad.

Jello is one of my favorite American treats. Here's a really good recipe for Lime Jello, it looks weird, but it's so good!
1pkg Lime Jello
1 large can crushed pineapple
Sour Cream
Prepare the Jello according to the package directions, but using only half of the required liquid.
Drain pineapple (can use the juice as part of the cold water when making the Jello) and add to the dissolved Jello.
Add as much sour cream as you want, but at least 8oz.
Whisk until combined, chill.

This is the second time I have done this today ... sorry again LOL. You will also need 1 large can of Cherry Pie filling with the Cherry Salad recipe.

Sounds great, do you fix the jello the usual way for the cherry salad and then mix everything else in? I can't wait to taste all those great flavors together...thanks to both of you!

I just love jello. My all time favorite is to have orange jello with whipped topping. Plain and simple.

I am not a big fan of jello. the only thing i really like to do with it is make jelloshots. And I haven't done that in a long time either. here is how you make it.
Ingredients:
2 cups Vodka
3 packages Jello with sugar
3 cups Water
Boil 3 cups of water then add jello. Mix jello and water until jello is completely disolved. Add the two cups of vodka and mix together. Pour mixture into plastic shot glasses and chill until firm. Then, eat away...

I absolutely love jello though I don't make it as often as I should. Though every time I make it I will put whipped topping on the very top & it tastes rather yummy indeed! . .
But I've also made something that consists of it layering the jello. I included the recipe below if you'd like to try making it sometime. It is rather simple to make I find.
It's called "Creamy Jello Layers."
Ingredients are as follows:
- 6 ounces of gelatin, any flavor you'd like
- 3 cups of boiling water
- 4 cups of frozen cool whip
- sliced fresh fruit - optional
Directions are:
- Dissolve the gelatin in the water.
- Whisk in cool whip, reserving 1 c. to top each dish
- Pour in to individual dishes
- Then chill for roughly 30 - 60 minutes. Then you top with the sliced fresh fruit, as well as the remaining cool whip.
You could also make the famous "Jello Jigglers." I remember making these all to often when I was younger. But they are good to make even as of right now if one had wanted. I know I'd like to make them sometime soon. Have you ever heard of them?!
Thanks for allowing me to share. xx
