i like my ratty old purse. it is ugly and doesn't match with anything. i like my dirty old seashell sandals. they are breaking all over the place and will probably fall apart on my feet one day. i like the little fairy bear i made that hangs on my rearview. it was cute before, when it was new, but now it's so torn up, it would kill me to throw it away. i like my couch with the bad reupholstry job (done by yours truly) that used to be even uglier than it is now. it's ugly on the inside. i like my family, because they don't try to be who they're not, and although i don't always agree, i can always respect that. i like to see artwork by little kids. it isn't perfect, but it always makes me happy. i like bad movies that are so bad, it's good. that's so hard to pull off. i like the color silver. to me, it is the color grey with some shininess to it. grey is not a beautiful color, nor popular, nor pretentious. grey is always there. grey doesn't stand out or make a difference. but grey is how i feel. grey makes me happy, because sometimes, grey can be silver, too, when it reflects light from other sources. all colors mixed together become grey, and all colors become shades of grey in the dark, but grey is always true. i like things other people don't like, things that aren't loved. things that aren't special. i like them, because in a way, they are little pieces of me.
