There shouldn't be discrimination, but there is. Most jobs can be done equally well by a man or a woman, but they are not paid or treated equally most of the time. I don't understand this either.

There are differences between men and women. Not only the visible differences such as anatomical differences. Women are better than men in some things and men are better at some thing than women. It's genetic, environmental, or whatever the reason. Studies have found that boys are usually better at math than girls, while girls are better than biys in verbal skills. That's just natural. Women sat around the campfire cooking, tanning hide, tending to the children, etc... Men went out hunting, fishing, fighting the neighbor tribe, etc... It has thir resons. While sitting around the camp fire the women talked about whatever they felt like. They informed each other, they learned from one another. Men while hunting, fishing, and fighting could talk. They would scare away the prey, the fish, or warn the enemy of an ambush. Humans lived like that for 10s of 1000s of years. We live like we live today for maybe 100-200 years. It's hard to get rid of 10,000s of years of evolution. Of course there are exceptions. But traditionally nurses are women because women usually show more sympathy. Women could afford to. Men couldn't. Hard manual labor is traditionally man's work because men had to fight bear or some other strong animal or an enemy. I believe everyone should be given a chance, but why force someone to? There are even differences between races but I won't even start that one. :)

Not all parts of the world have bad gender discrimination, even though in in western countries the salery for a guy is often higher than for a woman. But I think it has something to with with men putting more into their jobs, whereas many woman chose family.

I think a friend of mine hit this nail on the head the other day, when he asked if readers thought that women should be put to the bottom of a job appointment list if they were of child-bearing age. I feel that women are discriminated against quite often for this reason, when in reality, they are as good, if not better in their job than men. This can be easily overcome with some forward planning from the employee and if one thinks about it, pregnancy is a 50/50 thing between man and woman, and I think it really harsh for a woman to be eliminated from consideration for a job for this reason. There are other reasons of course, like physical strength and such, but I agree, discrimination of any kind is poor, whatever the reason. Thank you for this discussion. It was a very thought-provoking subject. Have a good day! :-)

Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars? I think there will always be discrimination in one form or another. It is just nature. Men are not equal, jobs are not equal. Some jobs are more suitable for men, others for women. As long as one is comfortable in his or her spot, I don't think he or she should be bothered if others get advantages because of gender, as long as those advantages are fair advantages.

Females are females they can do more than the males that is why discrination comes in in most cases. What a female can do to get more customers, males cannot do it.
