would you give back to an ex things he gave you?

i have this friend who recently broke up with her ex... she wants to give him back the gifts he gave her. i told her to either just keep them or throw them away if it hurts her to see them. would you give him back those things? they were given as gifts, i think it would hurt him and his ego if she did... but if he was a jerk does he deserve the embarassment?

My ex gave me a big stuffed teddy bear, I didn't give it back to hime but I let my brother send it to some girl he was talking to on the internet. We were together for four yrs and this is the only thing I can think of they he ever even gave me.

Well, if it was stuff I liked, and would consider using again, I'd keep it. But if it was going to hurt me by seeing it, I'd throw it all back in his face, in front of people I know it would embarass him in front of.

If they wanted the material things they gave me , of course I would gladly give them back. I have been asked if I wanted things back, very personal things and I have said yes, and then they were never sent,and I find that very agitating, so yes, I would return them.

returning gifts is not correct wht i feel of course he feels and deserve the embarassment. if broke is done , better to just forget . this is ideal

yep, it's a case to case basis. If the guy is such a loser, then he deserves all his things back just to show him that's he's a loser and that you can move on without any of his memories.
