No Doubt vs. Solo Gwen

I personally loved No Doubts breakthrough CD and their SKA/Punk sound that goes so well with Gwen's voice (much like the dark melodic sound goes with Amy Lee's voice). So. Now Gwen is doing can we call it rap music solo without the band. What do you guys think? No Doubt or Solo Gwen... which is better?

I love No Doubt and I love Gwen Stefani. No Doubt is better. I am so ready for their next album. Whenever that will be. Hopefully like she is saying after this tour they'll get into a studio.

Gwen, Tom, and Adrian have all done solo/side projects... I don't see No Doubt getting back together to release another album WITH Gwen. Yes that is right... No Doubt minus Gwen Stefani... hopefully after she finishes her 2007 tour she will jump back in and work with the guys that made her a household name in the first place.

I think you're reaching there. No Doubt will not make an album, ect with Gwen. Not under that name. I doubt they COULD.

I must admit, No Doubt and Gwen going solo had both been successful in their own right. I love listening to No Doubt's songs but I can't help singing along Gwen's hits whenever I hear them on the radio. Personally, I love No Doubt more than listening to the solo Gwen Stefani. The unique sound that the band brings plus their crazy antics on videos is much better than the very 'mainstream' sound but trendsetting look of Gwen's solo effort.

I think that the solo Gwen and No Doubt have two completely different audiences which may account for the fact that some love her solo stuff and others love her time with No Doubt but rarely do I find that people love both. Thanks Zelo

Personally, I love Gwen either way. Butt as far as musically I prefer her No Doubt stuff better. Now, don't get me wrong her first solo album was alright, still sounded like her & still showed her amazing talent. Far more so than her latest Sweet Escape, which makes her sound sold out, and does nothing to highlight her voice or lyrical talents.....Why oh why?. Can't wait to hear the new No Doubt stuff. It's been so very long. ~Bell Rose

I am in complete agreement with you... No Doubt broke up (kinda) but I did hear they are waiting for Gwen to finish her solo tour and then are going to be going back into the studio to do a new album... I would LOVE that.!

I love both to be honest, but I am looking forward to a new No Doubt album. It has been awhile.

I really don't like Gwen's solo stuff. All the stuff about the Harajuku girls doesn't sit well with me, because she talks about them as if they're dolls, not like they're people.

I am with you... I am really not into her solo stuff either. It's like she herself is being treated as a doll/puppet. Thanks for the response. Zelo

Well, I listened to her song tonight on American Idol from her Newer CD and I really liked it. Actually, overall, I do like a lot of the songs she has done. She does have talent.

I prefer No Doubt. I hardly now Gwen on solo. I remember Tragic Kingdom, so many years ago... I was about 11. Old memories... :)

Tragic Kingdom was indeed her launching pad and the story of how it came about it amazing... I just saw her new CD in stores today and I had to look twice... is THAT Gwen... uugghhh what fame will do to people.

I hate when groups breaks and the vocalist goes on a solo career. I prefer the no doubt with no doubt about it. Gwen have introduced nothing new to the music scene while the no doubt band was a solid band in the style they played.

Gwen is good and I like some of her music. But I personally love No Doubt the best. I liked their whole music vibe that they had; I guess it was the SKA/Punk sound that you were talking about.
