Lee Redmond of Salt Lake City, Utah, USA is said to be the woman with the longest fingernails in the world. They are 261 inches or 6m in total length.
Why would anyone want to grow nails that long? I trim mine to be neat looking. No longer do I feel the need to wear "claws". There was a time when I would let them grow out. I would always have a nice coat of polish on the too. That was before my babies were born. It wasn't until the babies got older that I started to let them grow again. But, I would never consider letting them grow as long at this woman.

Why wouldn't she?
She finds her nails pretty, I don't.
And I really don't care because it's her life and her body. She can do what she want with it. I think it's not pretty ofcourse.
I'm asking my self how can she pick up things? or lying in bed?
That's wierd but hey, it's her life :)

Well.... She has just totally lost her marbles hasn't she?
There's always one!!!!
I broke seven nails over Christmas, five were just opening presents that the Grandkids couldn't tackle. Have you seen how they pack that 2ft Robosapien thing with all the wires and stuff?... Horrendous!!!

I understand the desire to be unique or the best at something, but how does she do the basic things like go to the bathroom or button clothing? Did she get some money for accomplishing this feat?

THAT IS GROSS and stupid. She is handicapping herself. Some people will do anything for money, fame etc. and how can she enjoy the basic in life. (How does she wash or bathe herself... nasty)

I wouldn't want my nails that long, but some people do. I can't imagine that she can do much. I did see one lady on Montel that had long fingernails and toe nails and she said she has a hard time doing the littlest things, can imagine wiping your private area? I used to have long findernails that I had covered with acrylic (when I was employed) and they would get about 1 inch in length. I learned to adapt, so maybe they just learn to adapt.

I watched the Elen show whhen this lady appeared. Supposedly, she is going to cut them later this year. Wow...she is going to be lost without them after having them for so long! I can hardly get mine to grow! Mine split and tear like paper sometimes. And it is not due to lack of calcium because I have always been big on milk and milk products. I am just not blessed with stron nails.
I loved the fact that she went on Ellen's show. Because Ellen asked what I wanted to know....how the heck does to get to the bathroom???
My sister once put fake nails on me and they were too long that it took me 15 minutes to unzip my jeans!!! And on my flight back from visiting her, I starved because I could not even open a bag of chips or peanuts!!! I was grateful that the stewartess opened my drink for me or that would have been a lost cause too.
The nails didn't last long. ha ha

Oh God, I don't know how she manages with such long nails, I'm sure they are always getting in her way!! I grow my nails too but to a decent length. I like long well kept nails. When I was in high school I had the habit of biting them, when I finished school and joined college I somehow got over the habit almost instantly and began to grow my nails.

Wowsers! I've seen this and sure wouldn't grow nails like that. How in the world does she do anything? Maybe she has a maid to do everything for her to include feeding her, bathing her, fixing her hair, and dressing her. Otherwise how would she keep her nails from getting broken?

That is just gross. How would she do the even basic thing like doing up a button. Or as somebody else said wipe herself after going to the toilet. She certainly wouldn't be able to touch type. I know one thing. I wouldn't want a meal prepared by her. Imagine finding one of those nails in your meal ewwww.

I think this is a stupid thing to be done. people do it to get prominant and known by the others. But in my opinion this is nonsense.
