does anyone else here suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder), also known as the winter blues. I don't usually have a problem with winter but this one is just getting me down. The horrible thing about winter is that the sun rises at about 8am and then sets at 4pm, thats only 8 hours of daylight, although daylight may be pushing it a little as i haven't seen the sun since October. IT WON'T STOP RAINING!!!!!!! AND IF ANYONE ELSE TELLS ME THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A DROUGHT THIS YEAR IM GONNA SHOVE THEIR HEAD INTO THE RIVER THATS CURRENTLY RUNNING DOWN MY STREET UNTIL THEY GET MY POINT!!!!!!!!. As well as that it is cold, i don't mind the cold when its a nice sunny winter day or when it snows but this is the horrible type of cold. Its only about 5oC, so you still feel cold when you go out but it isn't cold enough for snow, so all that happens is that you get soacking wet and then spend the rest of the day slowly freezing to death.
Do you see my problem?, if anyone has a house in a nice tropical location can i come and stay with you?

Gee sorry i have no home in a sunny location but I do have a sun lamp. Its a special light made with the same UV rays as the sun and sitting under it makes you feel the same as if you were out in the sun. It really works for SAD and makes you feel a lot better. I bought mine from E-bay so look around for one. I beleive I only paid aroung $40 for it and it has helped me tremendously. I read that people who live in Alaska where they get no sunlight for days on end use these lamps to offset SAD which is rampant without one.Hope this helps you.

I think we can effect this to the better if we get outside alot and enjoy our surroundings even though they are not perfect.
I hear that people in California complain about june gloom when it is always above 70 degrees so we must just remain positive to fix our mood

thats a nice idea but if i go outside there is a good chance that i will die, i'll either be washed away by a flood or a tree will fall on me, Plus i have been outside and it just depresses me more because i end up so wet that my trousers start to fall down due to the excess weight of all the water.
