My husband and I went to Palm Springs for our honeymoon. It was so romantic! Niether of us had ever been there before. It was really hot there, but we got used to the heat. We stayed at the 7 Springs Inn & Suites, which was a really nice place! They had a nice swimming pool which was almost right outside our room, and it was open for 24 hours. One of the nights we woke up at 2 in the morning and went swimming! It was very romantic because there was nobody else around and the Palm trees around the pool were lit up. They were very pretty! The hotel was about a mile from downtown, so we ended up walking everywhere, which was fine. I lost some weight because of it, haha.
In the downtown area they had horses and carriages, so we went on a carriage ride and got a guided tour of the historical aspects of the city. They talked about where famous people of the 50's had stayed at, pointed out different buildings and talked about them. That same night they had a street fair, and they actually close off the main road! This occurs every Thursday night and they have booths set up, just like you'd see at a fair. It was really awesome, we bought some really good beef jerky at one of the booths. There were also street performers, bands, and people giving out samples of different foods. It was really interesting to see them close off the main road for something like this, especially since I've never seen it before and you don't really see that sort of thing in Washington!
On one of the nights we decided to dress up and have a really nice dinner out, so we went to this place calld the Chop House. It was the nicest restaurant I've ever been to, and oh!! The food was amazing!! We were expecting it to be maybe a little nicer than the Olive Garden, but when we got there we realized it was MUCH nicer than that! The waiter even took the cloth napkin and placed it on my lap for me!! Our meals totaled almost $100, but it was well worth it! I don't think I've ever had a better steak than I had that night...
So that's pretty much all we did... (besides the normal honeymoon stuff :P) We had tons of fun there and we hope to go back someday!
So how was your experience in Palm Springs? Why were you there? What did you do? Did you have a good time?

I'm a regular visitor to the area and I go there for different things. Did you visit the museum? My mom and I got to meet George Montgomery there when he was alive. It had a great exhibit of his work.
Other things I like to do are:
Visit Shields Date Garden in Indio. There is also a date festival in february about a block from there.
Visit the Living Desert in Palm Desert.
Visit Coachella Valley Preserve just north of the highway near 1000 palms.
Visit Morongo Reserve just north of Palm Springs.
Visit the Wind Farms (I don't know if you can do that now, but you could tour them in the past)
Visit the various "Indian" canyons that are close to Palm Springs.
Take the tram to the top of Mount San Jacinto (which you can get from downtown Palm Springs).
And, finally, shop at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
Yes, some of these are outside the city of Palm Springs, but are pretty close by.

Yes, we did visit the museum! It was really cool! :)
All of those activities sound like fun! We wanted to do a lot more while we were there, but we were on a limited budget (besides our dinner :P) and we only had a couple days there. That is why I would like to go back someday, to see more of the area and be able to do more things! We were planning on taking the tram on the mountain, but we couldn't fit it into our schedule. :( Oh well...maybe next time! :)
Thanks for your response! :D

Glad you could enjoy our little town! I only wish it was that exciting for us residents!! Especially young people that live here it is more of an older persons town. Don't get me wrong I love the smallness and the palm trees and mountains are beautiful. We definatly get some spectacular views. But when it's cureently 115 degrees outside...it's hard to find anything appealing about this desert. haha

I've been living in Palm Springs all my life and it just seems like there is nothing exciting to do as a resident. Sure there is a museum, but can't really party hard there. There's a few bars downtown, but they are very small and intimate. One has a dance floor, but very little space to dance. However, if the weather is reall nice, as it is now, you can enjoy a pleaseant night's stroll, but really that's all I've come to like: A calm, quiet, night stroll.
