Should Ganguly be permitted to play World Cup?

why not..he has proved himself in the last series against the south africans where none of the indian players succeed...the top batsmen aslo failed to score runs but ganguly showed that his selection was a good one..

if we go by records no doubt he is the most successful captain of the indian cricket team.As far as individual performance is concerned,he is only one among others to have pass the 10000runs milestone in less numbers of matches.His recent form and sound technic which he has developed in recent times,makes him the no.1 contender for being selected for the world cup team.Moreover he should also be elected as the captain

ya he should play.... he is the best n very experienced player.... if the selectors wont let him play in the world cup i think india is definately not gonna make for finals....

who is there to permit or restrict someone?performance speaks my friend if ganguly keeps performing the way he is it wont be long before he takes the reign back in his hand my friend and there are many under performers who needs to sacked from the team like sehwag

i think he has been picked to play the world cup he has performed in south africa so the gates are open to the prince of kolkata to play the world cup in his favourite opening slot

He has already shown what he can do by being the top scorer among the Indian batsmen in South Africa series. Now he has to show performance against the West Indies in India. Probably he will open the innings in absense of Sehwag. I hope we will again see the Sachin-Sourav magic. Sourav is now in good form, got his confidence back and he is a better player now. So he has a good chance to play the world cup.

Yes definitely...Also i think he has a fair chance to play in WC.his performance in the last SA series is satisfactory.So believe he will definitely get a chance to play in WC 2007...

If Ganguly had done well before World Cup so defentily he should be permitted to plya World Cup.

ya if he performs well n scores wll then he should definitely be included in world cup squad.naturally those whose average is not well they should not be included.those who r in form should be given first prefrence 'coz 2 win world cup v should need players who r in form

Sourav Ganguly is more of an one day player than a test player. He is not a consistently good player, that one has to be, at the test level whereas in the one day arena, he was a class player, but it remains to be seen if the class is still there. Hope he achives the phenomenal form that made him to score 10,000 in no time. He should definitely be played in World Cup and that too, as an opener, not as a middle order batsman.

i think he should be given chance in recent odis first n then his fate is to be decided.he has done really well in the sa test series. n it seems he can do well in odis as well.he has performed very well n much better than other team members so if others despite not showing their caliber are still there in the team thenm ganguly must be heeded to be in the team.

Ya it think he really bounced back well in the test series again south africa and he should be there in the world cup if he does much better in the odi series agains west indies

I like and love sachin and dravid,But Ganguly is the best in the Indian team so far we had saw from south africa series,Ganguly is the best captain,He is also known as the winning captain.That's why he should come to world cup.Not only world cup but also one day he should be the captain of the Indian cricket team.

It depends on the performance which he shows in the upcoming series. If he shows the better performance, then he must be allowed to play the World Cup

well, i think i all depends on how he performs during the upcoming india versus west indies one day international series. he has been given a chance to prove that he is capable of playing at the highest level. it is a great chance for him to cememt his place in the international team. it also depends on what position he get to bat during the matches. i hope he opens with sachin. it will be great to relive the old days of sachin and ganguly open together and tear apart the opposition's bowling attack.
