Seeing as i've been accused of this lately, i'd love for you to discuss your defination of slander.
To me, slander is when you run some person down, without merit, using their full first and last name, and saying things which aren't true about a person.
(which I have had happen to myself, but do I whine about it, no!)
So...im curious - what is YOUR defintion of slander? :)

When I think of slander, I think of ruining a person's reputation. When someone slanders you, they say things that are degrading and are not true. Spreading hurtful rumors that effects the way others perceive you is slander.

Thats right, only things which are NOT true. So what happens when what the other person is saying, is true and that person has concrete facts to back up what they are saying? Then what is it considered?

I would give my definition of slander to be any type of lie or false-statement about a person that is not based in fact and which causes harm to that person. So for instance, if someone were to spread a rumor filled with lies about a person, then it would be an extreme form of slander.

Okay, so if something which was said WAS true, and the person doesn't want to accept it as that, then what do you consider it ?? :)
