I have been thinking what would be interesting to do here in myLot. I have thought maybe myLot can do this weekly contest of choosing the "myLot user of the week" or month and reward him/her with some cash. I think it will be a good motivation and encouragement to all of us. I'm going to try to give myLot my idea on this and if they will take it into consideration. I wonder if they will answer back or if they do do it. What do you think about this idea?

sure there will be healthy competition.atleast for weekly they can have the best member award.List of members can be selected by mylot and members can vote for them(only one vote is allowed).very good and innovative idea.please post here if you get reply from mylot.

MyLot would have to setup for us some kind of criteria that we need to meet so they can choose one of us the myLot user of the or the month, or even both. We'll see.

That actually is a great idea, but what if the poster was not an honest poster, what if they only copy and paste alot.. that wouldn't be fair if they got it.. and there are so many posters.. who would nominate.. But if it would work.. that would be cool.. a little extra in our pockets would be nice.. But the way it is now is good to.

I think your idea for a MyLot awards pogram is really good. Perhaps they could add a reward of some sort to it as well as an even greater incentive. Please let us know if they get back to you on this. Cheers!

this is an excellent idea.this would also encourage users to take part more actively in mylot.also,more number of new users would be attracted to mylot.

Justreal, I think that is a great idea, and if one of the criteria for winning is offering suggestions to improve the community, then you should be the first winner for yuor excellent suggestion.

great idea i ve more tooo make this somthin like orkut with communities and more interaction between friends less java and more interaction some sense some moderators some thin abt ur likings , and this idea is very wise too

I think the biggest reward from being on myLot is not from recognition or payment. Some people are here to enjoy good discussions along with a little fun, and to make good friends. The little bit of money we get from doing this is only a tiny bonus and most of us would continue with our myLot experience even if there was no payment and no recognition. I commend you for your idea, but I think it could have bad effects as well, depending on the criteria.

I would have to agree with you there. When people get too focussed on the money, sometimes they start making stupid posts, posting discussion after discussion of useless content. I would have to say that the "most of us" isn't most of myLot, though. It is probably the users in myLot that have the higher star ratings. The users that aren't posting a lot of quality and have lower posts would probably gladly leave if the idea of making money on the site was removed. It's funny how people get so worked up about earning on this site and fail to realise that we don't get paid a whole lot at all. Not nearly enough to qualify as a job, anyway. It's more about the information and making friends and learning.

It's really not all about the money. This will be a feature and activity that everyone will love to participate to. It's good because it will be challenging and competitive. It's all about the fun dude!

Oh, I love it I love it!! I wonder how much cash they would award to a user of the week? That would be awesome! It would be interesting to see how they would calculate the winner. I don't know if it would be fair for it just to be rated on the number of posts per week. If so, I might actually have the chance to win, though *laugh* But quality really needs to be taken into consideration, as well as quantity. Or maybe the users could vote on a post that they consider best, and the person with the most votes would win? ^_^

Well i must say i like very much your idea but it would be really hard to make such a competition to all the users have a equal chances to win and the contest would be only based on the aulity of posts!

I think this is a great idea. And that u definately should run the idea for MyLot and maybe they will like it as well. I think there are room for alot of improvement, and motivation that can be better =)

This is a good idea, mylot maybe will just decide to give it to "top user of the month" like for the most active user but maybe it should be about the quality of the contributions not just the quantity.

YES I THINK IT IS A GOOD IDEA IN ORDER SOME OF US THAT WE ARE GOOD USERS IN MY LOT TO GET AWARDED in a way for our effort.let us see what will happen in future maybe the mylot site will do it..
