On-Line Games

What do you think of the mass on-line games the kids are playing these days?
My 2 boys play World of Warcraft. They used to play Rhunescape, but found the WOW game more to their liking.
How much play time is too much? I worry that the game draws them in so much that they would rather play that then do other things.
Who else plays these games or has kids who play?

My son is too young to play those games but he does spend a lot of time at the computer. He is 4 and has more games for the computer than he does for his Game Cube. He was at my moms house today and she said that he stayed on-line from the time he got up this morning until he was ready to watch tv around 6 this evening. She said he only took breaks to eat and go to the bathroom. I told her not to let him do that any more. I don't think it is good for kids to be stuck in front of a computer all day. He should be doing other things. I mean its great that he is 4 and can use a computer that well (he types better than he writes, no joke) but I worry he will miss out on some of the other things that kids his age do and he will fall behind.

wow, I'm surprised that at 4 he is already "caught" in the techno-trap!!
Those games can be very addicting that is for sure.
One of my friends has a 5 year old who has a gameboy and she is making him have to earn his time by chores and behaviors. If he behaves badly his time playing is cut out or lost for the day.

Yes i think these thinks have totally changed the way kids were in our days but nowadays kids instead of being active in sports and things like that they are wasting their time playing online games or they are glued to the pc...There are wastin their prestigious childhood dayz by doin these kinds of silly things.

Yes, I know. Some weekends I have to FORCE them to turn off the games and get outside and just run around. The kids today seem way to content to sit and play on-line or develop on-line friends.
There is so much technology out today. I am having trouble keeping up with what is what!

I've never heard of those games. I sometimes will play an online game. I'm not a serious gamer though.. for a I don't have that much free time! Lol.

It's crazy how many games kids are playing these days, though I'm guilty of playing them from time to time as well.
A few hours every day's not too bad as long as they get everything else they needed done, done. Which includes schoolwork, chores (if they have any), prior comittments, etc.
