The star above your profile is your rating at mylot. It shows how much quantity and quality posting you have done on mylot. It shows how active you've been on mylot and how much quality contenet you've posted. Mylot gave an alert about this new idea as well. Mylot clarified that having a low star rating doesn't mean you are a bad user but it just shows that others have been doing better than you. So to get a high star rating both quantity and quality postings are necessary.
