Do you watch shows like Most haunted?

I ove all those type of shows but it's really hard to know if they doctor the evidence for better TV. Ghost Hunters is great and for the most part I trust their stuff. Most haunted sits at the opposite end of the spectrum for me...lot's of dodgy looking evidence and the crew look to me like they are acting. If you get the chance you should read "Will Storr vs. The Supernatural" by Will Storr. He actually went out with the Most Haunted team and his reports are a bit of an eye opener.

I watched it once when my friend kept going on about it. I was in a fit of giggles throughout the whole show. There was some mad man on who became possessed by one of the spirits. He should have recieved an oscar. I'm not saying though that ghosts do not exist. I know people who have worked in the theatre and have sworn blind to seeing ghosts. Luckily, I haven't and I don't want to, so I tend to avoid these programmes as I don't like the thought of ever seeing one.

I watch Most Haunted. The show has improved since Derek left. He put on some good performances, award winning really. Since they have started using David Wells, the show is more believable. I think they should use some of the equipment that Ghost Hunters use so that we would get a better picture of what was going on. I take the show with a grain of salt. I keep an open mind, but I do like the show.

I do believe in psychism, ghosts and spiritualism from own personal experience and that of close family and friends but Most Haunted has been proven to be a fake. A writer managed to get on set for a days filming and he saw crib sheets with info on for them to learn before they got to the building and he was stopped from going in certain rooms where he later found trip wires and various other things. When it first began I think it was trying to be genuine and it did a lot to promote spiritualism, etc but as the series increased and people wanted more, they needed to be more sensationalist and now it is all a show and no substance.

Hi Monica! :) Yes, I LOVE shows of a supernatural nature, and it really grates on hubby's nerves. I do watch with the attitude that I have to be convinced beyond all reasonable doubt. Sometimes I watch A Haunting on DSC and think OMG I hope this didn't really happen because this is freaking the $%%^ out of me!! However, when I let my girls watch that they get really spooked. Kids will believe anything they hear, unfortunately, so hubby doesn't really want me letting the 11 year old watching.

I think people just have a thing with the unknown. They are drawn to it because they want to see proof of it. A lot of people don't believe in stuff until they see it. So, everytime someone watches one of these shows, they try to see for themselves if its true or not. To me, I believe in ghosts, but not because I've seen any. I haven't but I hope I do one day. It's just something that scares you, but keeps you enthralled at the same time. People want proof of things they don't understand. For example, the existance of aliens. People still want proof whether they exist or not. I believe they do because our planet can't be the only one with intelligent life on it.

I am skeptical, also. But at the same time..I cannot stop watching it. I laugh my self silly. I make everyone be quiet. Scoff at non believers. But at the same time think that it would be so easy to be put on. Stuart is my favorite. He is so brave but at the first sound he whines and runs. LOL
