Why can't we see GOD?

Is he a pigment of our imagination. A make believe so that we won't go overboard with or desires and thoughts. So we have something to fear. Or is he the real deal?
I think he is real eventhough I can't see him.
What do you think?

I think you mean a 'figment of our imagination' - pigment has to do with skin colouring.
I believe he is real, yet I still struggle with not being able to 'see' him, or know him in a way that would give me more clarity about him. One day, however, I will see him face to face, and I'm looking forward to that.
