Gotta Love the People

You are right lol. It is a very wonderful thing having people from wide and far discussin on common interest. With this, one gets to know what some one from different part of the world thinks of what we have to say. Ins't it funny to note that while abortion is legalized in India and some parts of Europe, it is a taboo in most African countries. So It nice we are all here to discuss.

I think it is intersting to read that others around the world do have similiar problems, discussions, responses, and thoughts. It shows that even though we have been raised in different cultures, many of the fundamentals are the same. I have met some very sweet people here from all places and am grateful to say that I have been able to talk with such people. If it were not for myLot, I do not think I would be sitting here swapping words and thoughts with such people that are on the other side of the world. :) So, I agree.

I totally agree. This has been a really fun and educational place for me. I find myself looking things up and reading about things that others post about. It is amazing to see how different life is in other parts of the world, but in so many ways we are still the same. I think that being here has made me more open minded about a lot of things, especially about religious and cultural beliefs.

I totally agree with you, its is important to have that in mind not all people believe in the same or have the same opinion but all are part of this community so we most accept it and love all people no matter what they think. Great discussion!

im glad you bring up this topic. since last month i enter mylot,i have been working out to answer difficult answer. as an indonesian, and my english i know, i understand the question, want to explain more and more. so many idea but so little word to write,until i open dictionary website so i can used it when ever i need it. I got scare being warning if i answer it wrong with broken english way. but you guys teach me. the more i read the more i learn. thank you to all of you my friend. together we are big giant happy mylot family.

What i love the most about the mylot community is that it is spread worldover and the biggest benefit it has is that whenever we read the responses to a topic or when we get responses to our discussions we come to know all the views towards it and it in a wat suggests about the background and thinking which a person has

Yeah! Its so amusing and interesting meeting with people from different parts of the world and talking to them; sharing with them issues we are not at all aware of. Of course people of different nationalities have different pronounciations and accents; blurting out instantly they may not find the proper words and say something while meaning something else. One such very funny thing happened with me too. Once walking on a snowy sidewalk in Moscow, I suddenly skid and hit a women, who also came skidding with me. Now, instead of saying 'sorry' (izvineeche), I said thank you (Spaciba). The lady walked away smiling. Later, when I realised my mistake, I couldn't help bursting into laughter myself. But it is good that we can communicate with people in a common language, understand the ideas they wish to convey and vice versa.

Hello friend, I have been on mylot forum for about four months and surely check it out daily asi find it is the best site on internet where all people from all over the world share their thoughts, views, opinions about different issues, different situations both personal and politcal and of general interests. I have made a lot of friends on mylot forum and it is fun. As i get to voice my opinions, share my thoughts and concerns and get positive feedback and that i am also happy to help others by giving them my advice. It shows how powerful internet as medium has evolved and how popular mylot site has become. Besides mylot forum also pays is bonus.I feel we all are humans at end of day and have same feelings, desires irespective of our nationalities, cultures, castes, creed, colour. so coming together on mylot forum is both fun and informative too.

yes that is so true i think its awsome that to think you don't have to leave your home to meet so many people from different areas in the world. I love it..this is the greatest part of doing mylot.. meeting new people and hearing what everyone has to say.

Seeing as Ive discussed the State of Islamic law with someone in India, traded interpretations with a guy in Cairo and even met a few Malysians, Id say I agree.

Hi.. but it is not just with mylot. there are so many places one can talk to people from different countries, religion and many other traits.. but i think it is very important to have common interests between two people because that can keep the conversation going.

I can't remember how I came to look at myLot but apart from email it was my first experience with internet. I hadn't intended getting involved here but thought I'd dabble for a couple of weeks which I had spare. It would be a little bit of fun for a short time. Ha! I have met some good friends here - very unexpected friends! I am a Christian and I cannot do anything other than enthuse about the wonderful life I have in Christ. He is a vital part of my life. However, on myLot I have made friends with atheists, agnostics and pagans and have enjoyed long, intelligent, logical and courteous discussions with them. I have also enjoyed the same with Muslims and other Christians. Certainly myLot has made the world a lot smaller, breaking down barriers and opening meaningful friendships with a variety of people. It has been interesting to see the different opinions and attitudes from different areas of the world. Thank you for a good discussion.

I have to admit I'm kind of amused when people complain about the English. Dude, I couldn't speak German nearly that well to post on a public board! I think it's kind of neat as well.

I agree, I love meeting all different kinds of people here. Even though I live in a very diverse neighborhood, I still get to meet all sorts of different people here and hear all kinds of different viewpoints. I really enjoy that. And I agree with you that it can be funny sometimes what things get lost in translation.

I find myself looking things up and reading about things that others post about. It is difficult to understand why some native english speakers are less considerate when it comes to this matter. It is amazing that even with the differences we still manage to share our thoughts to everyone. I just love the fact that whatever topic we put up here we get to here so many different views of it. yeah, the internet is cool like that. It makes the world a much smaller place. I rather enjoy finding people who think different than I do, it makes me use my brain. After being a single mother for so long, I'm hungary for stimulating conversation.
