Saddam Hussein was in custody by U.S. forces at Camp Cropper in Baghdad, along with eleven senior Ba'athist officials. The Coalition Provisional Authority voted to create the Iraqi Special Tribunal (IST), consisting of five Iraqi judges (Non Americans) and no americans were at his hanging. The Americans only agreed to his hanging and captured him.....

When the trial started he was no longer the leader of Iraq! giving the Iraqi govermemnt full power of wich they could do whatever they wanted...
