Minimum Wage Increase

The House of Representives just passed a bill to raise the minimum wage nationwide. Do you guys think that this will be a good idea? I personally don't see the use. The companies just raise their prices, which deflates the value of the American dollar. It also crushes small businesses and forces them to cut back on the hours that their employees are able to work. There are argument to be made for both sides, but I just don't see how a minimum wage increase will do anything.
