Getting rid of that fat..

With the holidays gone, one thing that doesn't seem to go away all too easily is all that weight put on during that time. My particular concern are the love handles, those flabby arms...uuugghh. Know of any good way to get rid of all those fat?

Exercising and drinking plenty of water throughout the day is the best way, in my opinion. If you alternate both muscle-toning workouts with cardiovascular, even it's a brisk half-hour walk, perhaps alternating throughout the week, you will see better results. Doing both speeds up your metabolism, making it easier to burn off the fat. Try finding situp workouts that focus on the obliques, which will target love handles--though it's best to work all areas, of course. For flabby arms, using light weights and working yourself to higher reps, and eventually higher weights, does wonders for both biceps and triceps (under-the-arm area). There's tons of arm workouts on the net. If you prefer working out at home with some visual aid/dvds, I liked the newer Firm workouts, which actually does both cardio and muscle-toning at the same time. Of course, it's good to watch what you eat and the size of your proprotions, just keep with something you'll actually stick to, even forgoing the diet theory, and just don't eat too soon before going to bed, so that your body has time to burn the calories while you're awake rather than asleep.

This is good one, thanks! Though I may need some time to get used to this, lack of discipline and dislike for routines on my part.hehe. I'll try searching for those arm workouts.

That's probably the hardest thing to do -- getting started. Motivating yourself to get started with anything. That one does sound like a rewarding exercise, but won't you be bound to have obvious muscle formation, since most of the effort would be exerted by the arms? I don't wanna end up looking like Madonna with her beefed up appearance, now. Probably arms that'll make me confident enough to pull of sleeveless types of outfits. Have you got any other suggestions up your sleeve?^^

Yeah, it's hard to get into the "flow", so to speak, but so worth it. Once you start seeing those results, sooner or later it just gets hard to stop. I was going to also mention doing a reverse pushup for the tricep area, which my old aerobics teach had use doing and it worked (pain in the butt that it was). Basically, you sit on the floor with your arms behind you bent behind you (like a reverse pushup), knees bent and feet ahead of you, and simply push up but leave your hips/rear lax, since the goal is mainly to work use your arms. Once you get the hang of it, you can make it harder by lifting one leg in the air, switching back and forth between legs. You can do similar off the edge of a counter, similar to a dip, but it probably won't work as well. Sucks, but works lol. Good luck :)

try doing the surya-namaskar and u'll see the desired results in 1 month. U have to do it regularly with less intake of rice. If u r so used to rice try eating a substitute for it like poha (flattened rice). all the best !

Thanks, the thing is though, rice is staple one in my meal. When I haven't had rice in a meal, I usually feel like my stomach's hollow. I mean, I feel full, but there's still something missing.
