Do you think that you should always tell the truth even if it hurt others?

I think that one should not tell the truth when it hurts others cause afterall we should not hurt others in any way.However, I still do get confused about the thing that when truth is a virtue above all should we keep quite only not to hurt others?
Am I wrong?
