Take it from an old mother hen and just play it straight with this guy. There is no easy way to break up with someone. You just have to tell it like it is. I don't know any of the details of your relationship, but your message said urgent. If he is not the abusive type you can meet with him, say that your feelings have changed toward him, and you are moving on. If he is a jerk, take someone with you or do it on the phone. Be firm, do not be apologetic, and don't get into a debate or an argument.
